Holy Day Messages and Instructions

Unleavened Bread

The Spring Holy Days will begin soon.

Because of government and other issues associated with COVID-19, more Christians than usual will end up keeping the Holy Days in homes.

Passover, which is for baptized members only, should be observed shortly after sunset on the Roman calendar date of April 7th. The Night to Be Observed begins at sunset on the Roman calendar date of April 8th and starts the Days of Unleavened Bread? which lasts until sunset April 15, 2020. COVID-19 is causing complications for us in various parts of the world.

Anyway, as far as how to keep these days, we have long had an article available: Keeping Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread. Here is a link to a related article in the Spanish language: Guardando la Pascua y los Días de los Panes sin Levadura.

For a step-by-step video for baptized Christians to keep Passover in English after sunset on April 7th, check out the following: CCOG Passover Service.

Here is a link to a video many people may wish to watch after sunset the 8th of April: Night to Be Observed.

Here is a sermon suggested for the First Day of Unleavened Bread:

1:12:21

The Old and New Testaments mention the Days of Unleavened Bread. Both somewhat tie them in with Passover. Jesus was put in the tomb just prior to the start of the Days of Unleavened Bread. What is leaven? What are leavening agents? What does leaven symbolically represent according to Jesus? Are we to totally put sin, hypocrisy, and pride out of our lives? Did Jesus say we are to be perfect? Should Christians removed leaven from their homes and eat unleavened bread for seven days each year? Should we be vigilant to avoid sin and diligently remove leaven and sin? Do Christians need to avoid leavened beverages during the Days of Unleavened Bread? Since Christians are under grace, what about sin? Do Christians still sin? What about humility and faith? Dr. Thiel goes over these topics and more for this sermon message intended for the First Day of Unleavened Bread.

Here is a suggested holy day service for the First Day of Unleavened Bread for our scattered brethren and other interested people:

For those interested in two services, here is a suggestion for the second service:

Note: If you have a slow internet connection, you can watch these by starting the video, then below it (and towards the right) look for an outline of a gear–if you click on that, it will allow the YouTube video to be played with lower video quality, but at least it will not stop often–you can select a quality as low as 144p. If your internet connection is still too slow and/or you prefer audio messages to audio-visuals ones, go to the YouTube link for the message, click on SHOW MORE related to the description. You will then see something that says, “Download MP3.” Below that is a link to an MP3 file. Most computers (and even some cellular telephones) will allow MP3 files to be downloaded and played. This is an option we have made available (but we are also looking into ways to improve that as well)–and, of course, we have written article options. Some people have found that if their internet connections are not fast enough, that they can simply listen to the messages that are found at the Bible News Prophecy online radio channel.
